I experienced every conceivable emotion while reading this wonderful book! Kora and Finn met at 14 years old at Horseback Inn which was owned by Kora's aunt. When Kora experiences an emotional trauma, Finn was there to comfort her. I felt such sympathy for Kora and all she went through. Finn also suffered emotionally as she slowly went blind. Now at 40 years old they are brought together again. They have lived totally different lives. While one of them is satisfied with her life, the other just wants to end it all. Even though Finn is blind now, she remembers Kora's beauty. In fact, she has never forgotten Kora and has always been in love with her. How can two absolutely different women come together in order to save each other? Well, that of course, is the rest of the story. This author is so skilled at conveying the inner most thoughts of the characters that I really did find myself living in the story. I loved Finn for her gentleness and I loved Kora for her courage. This will go immediately onto my "best books of the year" list. The book is not the usual fluffy romance but is most definitely a beautiful love story. Highly recommend this one.
